Priyadarshini Pandit's paper published in the prestigious Physical Review Letters
04 Mar, 2025 | Student Glory
Our heartfelt congratulations to Ms. Priyadarshini Pandit, an Institute Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Physics, on her successful publication titled "Boundary Carrollian Conformal Field Theories and Open Null Strings" in the prestigious Physical Review Letters.
Carrollian physics, after starting its life as a mathematical curiosity of sending the speed of light to zero, has recently found wide-ranging applications in subjects as diverse as condensed matter physics and quantum gravity, despite having features that apparently contradict our everyday experiences. In her paper, Priyadarshini explores finite-sizes and boundary effects in Carrollian physics, specifically in Carrollian conformal theories in two dimensions, and discovers a hitherto unknown symmetry algebra we call Boundary Carrollian Conformal Algebra.
Working under the guidance of Prof. Arjun Bagchi, we wish for many more laurels in her name.
