Team Aerial Robotics IITK secures 1st place globally in the finals of the student competition at the International Conference on Unmanned Aircraft Systems (ICUAS) 2025!

Representing IIT Kanpur and India on such a prestigious international platform, the team competed against many talented teams from Hong Kong, Armenia, Poland, and South Korea, etc.

The final round involved identifying ArUco markers on various obstacles while maintaining communication and line-of-sight between a swarm of drones. This was implemented on Crazyflie drones. The solution, previously implemented in a simulation environment where the team finished third globally, was successfully adapted and executed in the real-world finals.

This is a matter of great pride for the institute. Further strengthening their resolve to pursue excellence and take on greater challenges in the future, the Aerial Robotics team believes this journey has helped them learn invaluable lessons in self-belief, persistence, and hard work, and gain a broader perspective by engaging with teams from across the globe.
