41st International and 7th Asian Conference on Thermoelectrics
15 Aug, 2025 | Student Glory
We are thrilled to share that Mr. Shivam Aggarwal, PhD scholar from the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, working under the guidance of Prof. Tanmoy Maiti, has been awarded the Outstanding Poster Award at the prestigious 41st International and 7th Asian Conference on Thermoelectrics (ICT/ACT 2025) held in Sendai, Japan, from June 15–19, 2025.
The award also includes a prize of 50,000 JPY. His poster, titled “Data-Driven Approach to Predict the Thermoelectric Properties of Oxide Perovskites,” highlights the use of machine learning (ML) to accelerate the discovery of cost-effective and high-performance materials for waste-heat to electricity conversion which is a breakthrough in sustainable energy technologies.
His poster, titled “Data-Driven Approach to Predict the Thermoelectric Properties of Oxide Perovskites,” explores the use of Machine Learning to design advanced materials that can convert waste heat into electricity. Traditional methods of finding such materials are time-consuming and inefficient due to their complex nature. By using ML, his research helps speed up the discovery of low-cost, high-performance thermoelectric materials that could be used in industries, power plants, and automobiles to generate clean energy from waste heat.
Congratulations to Mr. Shivam Aggarwal and his advisor Prof. Tanmoy Maiti on this exceptional international recognition!
