ANRF–PAIR supported Conference on Cancer Genomics, Diagnostics & Therapeutics

IIT Kanpur successfully hosted the ANRF–PAIR supported Conference on Cancer Genomics, Diagnostics & Therapeutics (28–30 January 2026), bringing together scientists, clinicians, and academic leaders from across the country to strengthen collaborative cancer research in India.
The conference was inaugurated by Prof. Tarun Gupta, Dean of R&D, IIT Kanpur; Prof. Ashwani K. Thakur, Head, Department of Biological Sciences & Bioengineering, IIT Kanpur; and Prof. Sudhir K. Awasthi, Pro-Vice Chancellor, CSJM University, Kanpur. The event was led by Prof. Bushra Ateeq (Lead PI, Cancer Theme) and co-organized by Prof. Rakesh Majhi, along with collaborators from partner “Spoke” institutions — Prof. Luna Samata (Ravenshaw University, Odisha), Prof. Akhilanand Chaurasia and Prof. Mohammad Kaleem (KGMU, Lucknow).
Addressing the gathering, Dr. T. Thangaradjou, Scientist F, ANRF, highlighted the vision of the ANRF–PAIR network in empowering emerging research institutions through mentorship-driven partnerships.
As part of this grant, IIT Kanpur, serving as the Hub institution, partnered with leading spoke institutions: King George’s Medical University (Lucknow), Ravenshaw University (Odisha), NIT Arunachal Pradesh, and CSJM University, the initiative is advancing cancer genomics, diagnostics, and therapeutics through innovation, training, and translational research.
