We are thrilled to announce the creation of the Indian BioMedical Engineering Society (IBMES), inaugurated on July 26th with an inspiring symposium. The event was highlighted by an insightful keynote address by Dr. Sanjay Behari, Director of the Shree Chitra Tirunal Institute of Medical Science and Technology, who eloquently outlined the vision and potential of IBMES in accelerating the translation of biomedical devices from research to clinical and commercial application.

IBMES aims to foster indigenous innovation in biomedical technologies, diagnostics, and software; update and enhance academic curricula in biomedical engineering; bridge collaborations between academia, industry, and clinicians; and promote dissemination of knowledge through conferences and publications.

Further, the society commits to supporting student training, recognizing excellence through awards, advocating for policy improvements, and setting high standards through laboratory accreditation. This marks a significant step toward strengthening India's biomedical engineering landscape.
