10th India International Science Festival (IISF) 2024

We are delighted to have recently held the curtain-raiser event for the 10th India International Science Festival (IISF) 2024.

The IISF, co-organized by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, and Vijnana Bharati (VIBHA), will officially be hosted at Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati from November 30 to December 3, 2024.

The event’s inauguration was graced by Chief Guest Prof. Vinay Kumar Pathak, Vice Chancellor of CSJMU Kanpur and Patron of VIBHA, along with Prof. Manindra Agrawal, Director, IIT Kanpur and President of VIBHA Kanpur Prant. Together, they unveiled the IISF-2024 brochure for the upcoming science festival.

Prof. Sunil Mishra, General Secretary of VIBHA, presented a comprehensive overview of the festival's programs through a detailed presentation. This year’s festival will once again feature the popular "Science through Games and Toys" initiative, spearheaded by VIBHA Kanpur Prant and led by State Coordinator Kaustubh Omar. The program aims to make scientific learning engaging and accessible, particularly for young minds.

During the event, Prof. Pathak discussed the vision of a "Developed India 2047" and invited VIBHA’s Tinker India Lab initiative to utilize laboratory facilities at the university. Prof. Agrawal also proposed organizing additional events at IIT Kanpur, aiming to foster scientific interest among school students.

The ceremony included remarks from key VIBHA leaders, including UP Organizing Secretary Ashutosh Singh, who highlighted the significance of Vigyan Bharti's Foundation Day. In attendance were state vice presidents Prof. Ajit Kumar Chaturvedi and Prof. Sandeep Shukla, along with Prof. Sachchida Nand Tripathi, Prof. Siddhartha Panda, Prof. Rajiv Sinha, Dr. Santosh K. Misra, Prof. Amey Karkare from IITK, joint secretary VIBHA Dr. Saurav Tomar, state coordinator of VVM Dr. Ashutosh Tiwari, Dr. Ram Shiromani, Dr. D.S. Bagh, Etawah Department Secretary Kuldeep Awasthi, faculty of IIT Kanpur, and scholars.

IISF-2024 promises a diverse lineup of 24 unique programs aimed at engaging a wide audience, including school and college students, educators, Nobel laureates, leading scientists, startups, industrialists, and the general public. Participation is free, and the event offers fully funded participation.
