Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IITK) and the University at Buffalo (UB), The State University of New York have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish the IITK-UB Joint Centre of Excellence in Biomedicine and Bioengineering at IITK. 

It is a step forward in continuation to the MoU we signed last year with UB. The center aims to develop materials and technologies for bioscience applications and facilitate long-term joint research collaborations. 

From UB, there was Prof. A. Scott Weber, Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs along with Prof. Venu Govindaraju, Vice President for Research and Economic Development; Prof. Kemper Lewis, Dean, School of Engineering and Applied Sciences; Prof. Paras Prasad, Professor, Department of Chemistry; and several other distinguished academicians. 

From IIT Kanpur, Prof. Abhay Karandikar, Director IIT Kanpur was joined by Prof. S Ganesh, Deputy Director; Prof. Dhirendra Katti, Dean of International Relations and other Deans and faculty members.
