The 2nd Public Policy Seminar organized by Department of Economic Sciences at Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur on August 4-5 was unique because it is for the first time an academic conference is seeing an amalgamation of senior academic researchers and policy makers sharing perspectives on policy making in an Indian perspective.

The event fosters enlightening discussions and insights from esteemed academics, government officials, and industry experts. The conference started with the opening speech by Director Abhay Karandikar, had a Keynote talk by Prof. Maitreesh Ghatak from the London School of Economics and a Plenary talk by Prof. Chetan Ghate, Director of the Institute of Economic Growth.

A series of engaging panel discussions was the highlight of the conference; Dr R. S. Sharma, an accomplished figure who has served as the Former CEO of National Health Authority (NHA) and Dr. Ajay Kumar, former Defence Secretary of the Government of India, Shri Alok Tandon, former Secretary, Mines; Shri Abhishek Singh, CEO of Digital India Corporation; Shri Sharad Sharma, Co-founder of the iSPIRT Foundation and former Head of Yahoo Research, Shri Neel Ratan, Distinguished Fellow at WEF and former Head of PwC India Public Sector practice were the esteemed members who joined for the discussion

The event promises to be a significant platform for exchanging ideas and cultivating new insights into the pressing issues of our time.
