SIIC IIT Kanpur participated in the prestigious Incubators Connect Program organized by DWIH in Germany

IIT Kanpur technology business incubator, Startup Incubation and Innovation Centre, participated in the prestigious Incubators Connect Program organized by DWIH New Delhi. This transformative weeklong initiative, which took place in Germany from June 4th to June 9th, brought together directors and managers of incubators from both India and Germany. With SIIC, IIT Kanpur among the prominent participants, the program successfully facilitated the convergence of approximately 15 incubators, technology transfer offices (TTOs), and entrepreneurship-focused institutions.

Mr. Animesh Mishra, Manager (Defence) at SIIC, IIT Kanpur, was present at the event, and highlighted SIIC, IIT Kanpur’s unwavering dedication to fostering collaboration between Indian and German startups, while also pushing the boundaries of the incubator ecosystem.

The primary objective of this influential program was to stimulate vibrant dialogues surrounding the internationalization of business incubators, while also laying the groundwork for stronger collaborations between the two nations. Showcasing its ambitious nature, the program unfolded across three dynamic locations: Karlsruhe, Braunschweig, and Berlin. Participants were completely immersed in a comprehensive experience that included visits to esteemed institutions, interactive workshops, and fruitful engagements with policymakers and relevant organizations.

Prof. Abhay Karandikar, Director IIT Kanpur said, “The active participation of SIIC, IIT Kanpur in this great initiative of Incubators Connect by DWIH New Delhi, is a testament to the vibrant research and innovation culture at IIT Kanpur that aligns with the greater interest of the nation. I believe this initiative has the potential to strengthen bilateral ties between India and Germany, especially in the flourishing startup ecosystem. By fostering mutual understanding, facilitating knowledge exchange, and promoting cultural interactions through startup initiatives, both countries can build enduring connections.”

At the heart of the program was the creation of an atmosphere conducive to the exchange of knowledge and mutual learning among all attendees. Participant from SIIC, IIT Kanpur and a diverse group of attendees brought their distinct viewpoints and extensive expertise, facilitating a profound exploration of inventive strategies. The program aimed to uncover ways to expand the global influence of incubation practices and seize international opportunities. With thoughtful planning and meticulous execution, the program fostered discussions around overcoming obstacles, identifying exemplary approaches, and nurturing an international mindset within the incubator ecosystem.

Prof. Ankush Sharma, Professor-in-Charge, SIIC, IIT Kanpur, expressed his captivation with the extraordinary efforts of the Incubators Connect Program, which unites India and Germany on a path of innovation and growth in this era of immense possibilities. Prof. Sharma firmly believes that this initiative will not only benefit the startups involved but also propel the startup ecosystem in both India and Germany to unprecedented heights, marking an exhilarating journey towards economic prosperity and technological advancements undertaken jointly.

Ambassador Parvathaneni Harish hosted a meeting at the Indian Embassy in Germany, focusing on enhancing collaboration between Indian and German startups and research. Mr. Animesh Mishra, representing SIIC, IIT Kanpur, showcased the institution's achievements in supporting startups and emphasized the importance of connecting Indian startups with the dynamic German ecosystem. The meeting explored technology collaboration opportunities, emphasizing collaborative projects, knowledge sharing, and investment prospects. Ambassador Parvathaneni Harish also expressed enthusiasm for the growing collaboration, aiming to leverage the strengths of both nations for a thriving ecosystem promoting technological advancements and economic growth. The event marked a significant milestone, paving the way for future collaborations and global growth in the startup and innovation sectors.
