The Advanced Centre for Materials Science (ACMS), along with the Department of Materials Science & Engineering (MSE), IIT Kanpur, successfully organized a one-day seminar on “Recent Advancements in Indentation, Scratch, and Tribology” on December 12, 2025.

The seminar featured expert talks on nanoindentation, continuous stiffness measurements, and tribology, along with a special lecture by Dr. Mohammad A. P. Yazdi (Anton Paar Tritec, Switzerland). Participants also visited advanced characterization facilities at ACMS and attended live demonstrations.

With participation from over 60 researchers and students, the event concluded with enthusiastic feedback and certificate distribution, reinforcing the importance of such knowledge-sharing platforms.
