IIT Kanpur has signed an MoU with Helium Smart Air Private Limited, a startup founded by IITK alumni, to jointly explore research avenues aimed at reducing the energy requirements of air conditioning systems.

The MoU was signed by Mr. Ashish Sharma, Director and co-founder of Helium Smart Air, & Professor Tarun Gupta, Dean, Research & Development, IIT Kanpur, in the presence of Professor Umesh Madanan, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, who will also serve as the strategic advisor to the company.

This partnership brings together IIT Kanpur's deep research expertise and Helium's vision for next-generation cooling technology - uniting academic rigor with industry innovation to address one of the most important challenges in sustainable climate control.
