The Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur celebrated the 77th Republic Day with pride and patriotic fervour, celebrating the nation’s constitutional legacy and the Institute’s commitment to excellence, service, and social responsibility.

The celebrations began with the hoisting of the National Flag by Prof. Manindra Agrawal, Director, IIT Kanpur. Addressing the gathering, the Director highlighted key developments over the past year, including the establishment of the Centre for Mental Health and Wellbeing, strengthened alumni support with major contributions towards a new School for Technology and Society, and the launch of MakerSpace for student innovation.

Institute honoured non-teaching staff members who completed 25 years of long and satisfactory service, conferred Merit Awards for the year 2025 on the non-teaching staff members who had rendered exemplary service.

Students and staff members were felicitated for their outstanding performance in the recently concluded Inter IIT Sports Meet.

Inspiring cultural performances by students from Campus School, Opportunity School & Kendriya Vidyalaya added vibrance to the celebrations.

The celebrations reflected IIT Kanpur’s enduring commitment to excellence, service, inclusivity, and nation-building.
