The Cell for Differently Abled Persons (CDAP), IIT Kanpur celebrated its Annual Day 2025 in observance of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD), reaffirming the institute’s strong commitment to inclusivity, accessibility, and empowerment.

The programme was inaugurated with the Lighting of the Lamp by Dr. Alma Chopra (Chief Guest), Prof. Braj Bhushan (Deputy Director, IIT Kanpur), Mr. Vishwa Ranjan (Registrar, IIT Kanpur), and Prof. Anubha Goel (Head, CDAP), symbolizing collective responsibility towards building an inclusive academic ecosystem.

The event featured inspiring addresses by Dr. Alma Chopra, Prof. Braj Bhushan, and Prof. Anubha Goel, highlighting perseverance, self-belief, accessible spaces, and institutional initiatives for empowering persons with disabilities.

A moving role-play performance by school students Pratha Tiwari and Supriya Tiwari left a strong impression, conveying powerful messages of empathy, inclusion, and social awareness.

Prof. Gowdham and his team showcased cutting-edge work in assistive technology and human–computer interaction, focusing on accessibility-driven innovations across AI, AR/VR/XR, creative and music technology, new media, and assistive systems, with research presented at leading international platforms such as CHI, UIST, ISMAR, and NIME.

The programme also included an Alumni Talk by Mr. Gorank Dudeja, prize distribution for the IDPD Drawing Competition, and a presentation on “Highlights of the Year 2025: CDAP”, celebrating the Cell’s milestones and impact.

The celebration concluded with a Vote of Thanks in the presence of institute authorities, followed by a Group Photograph, marking a memorable and meaningful celebration of collective progress.
