IIT Kanpur and the Troop Comforts Limited (TCL) have joined hands to advance indigenous defence capabilities through cutting-edge drone technology.

IIT Kanpur will provide research-driven technical expertise for the design and development of various types of drones, which will be manufactured at TCL facilities.

The initiative is being spearheaded by Prof. Abhishek from the Department of Aerospace Engineering. The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Prof. Tarun Gupta, Dean, Research and Development, IIT Kanpur and Shri Rajeev Sharma, Director of Operations, TCL in the presence of Prof. G. M. Kamath, Head of the Department of Aerospace Engineering.

This collaboration will enable the production of advanced surveillance, tactical, and autonomous drones, tailored to meet diverse operational needs of the Indian Armed Forces.

It highlights the institute’s commitment to strengthening national security through innovation and self-reliance.
