Students' Placement Office, IIT Kanpur was delighted to host the India-Japan Talent Bridge (IJTB) Career Summit 2025 on, the 66th Foundation Day.

Organised in collaboration with Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, Deloitte Tohmatsu Financial Advisory LLC, and Talendy Holdings, the seminar featured insightful sessions showcasing new avenues for academic and industry collaboration between India and Japan. Notably, Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur had the distinct privilege of being among a select group of premier institutions specially invited to collaborate for this first -of- its- kind engagement.

The day began with a welcome address by Prof. Ashwani Kumar Thakur, SPO Chairperson, followed by a campus tour for the delegates and an introduction to the IJTB program. Company presentations from AGC Group, Nippon Steel Corporation, Suzuyo India Private Limited, ISK Biosciences Corporation, TechMatrix Inc, Order Busters Inc. and Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) highlighted their vision, work culture and collaboration opportunities with Indian talent.

An engaging India-Japan quiz by the Tech Japan team and inspiring stories from IITK graduates working with Japanese firms added energy and insight to the event.

The seminar concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. Manjesh K. Singh, SPO Vice-Chairperson, a photo session and round-table interactions between companies and students. The Technopark IITK Team also shared collaboration opportunities for research and innovation at IIT Kanpur.

A special highlight was the visit by our Distinguished Alumnus Awardees 2025 Mr. Awanish Awasthi, Chief Advisor at the Chief Minister Office, Uttar Pradesh who shared the State’s vision for partnerships with Japan in emerging sectors and Prof. Rishikesha Krishnan, former director IIM, Bangalore whose inspiring words added significance to the occasion.

Events like these strengthen IIT Kanpur’s global footprint and reaffirm SPO’s mission to connect students with transformative international opportunities.
