IIT Kanpur launched its first-ever On-Campus Passport Drive on October 27, a major student-welfare initiative conceptualized by the Students’ Gymkhana under the guidance of Dean, Students’ Affairs, Prof. Pratik Sen. Recognizing the challenges students face in managing passport appointments alongside academics, this initiative brought the entire process conveniently to campus.

The drive was organized in collaboration with the Regional Passport Office, Lucknow, with special thanks to Mr. Shubham Singh (IFS), Regional Passport Officer and proud IIT Kanpur alumnus (BT/CE/07), whose support made this possible. The highlight was the deployment of RPO Lucknow’s Mobile Van, offering on-site verification and processing services for 500 students.

The Students’ Gymkhana, led by the President Ayan Gupta with on-ground coordination by Gourav and Manit Kapoor, ensured smooth operations throughout. This initiative exemplifies IIT Kanpur’s commitment to student welfare, collaboration, and the power of alumni engagement.
