Physics
A huge congratulations to Prof. Swagata Mukherjee and Prof. Sanmay Ganguly from the Department of Physics on being awarded the prestigious Breakthrough Prize in Fundamental Physics.
Also known as Fundamental Physics Prize, this is awarded to physicists from theoretical, mathematical, or experimental physics that have made "transformative contributions to fundamental physics and specifically for recent advances”. The 2025 Breakthrough Prize is awarded to the co-authors of publications based on CERN LHC Run-2 data. The $3 million prize is allocated to ATLAS($1M), CMS($1M), ALICE($0.5 M) and LHCb($0.5M) collaborations.
Prof. Swagata Mukherjee, awarded under the CMS collaboration, has research interests in Experimental High Energy Physics and Collider experiments, while Prof. Sanmay Ganguly, awarded under the ATLAS collaboration, keeps research interest in Experimental High Energy Physics, Application of machine learning in HEP and other branches of physics.
The entire institute congratulates them on their exceptional work and recognition, and looks forward to many more laurels in their name.
