We are proud to share that Dr. Ajay Kumar, a distinguished alumnus of IIT Kanpur and former Defence Secretary of India, has been appointed as the Chairman of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).

A 1985 batch IAS officer from the Kerala cadre, Dr. Kumar brings with him decades of experience in public administration and policymaking. His visionary leadership and commitment to nation-building have been evident throughout his career — from steering critical reforms in the defence sector to championing innovation and self-reliance in governance. In his new role, he will continue to shape the future of India’s civil services with insight and integrity.
