It is a matter of great pride for us that our distinguished alumnus, Prof Deepak Dhar (MSC2/PHY/1973), has been awarded the prestigious Padma Bhushan award 2023 in the field of Science & Engineering. IIT Kanpur had felicitated him with the Distinguished Alumnus Award in Nov 2022 on our Foundation Day for his stellar achievements in science and technology. He is a theoretical physicist and a distinguished professor in the Physics department of the Indian Institute of Science Education & Research, Pune. My warmest congratulations to him on receiving the Padma Bhushan award. Wishing him all the success in his future endeavors.
